Intaka Island boasts a wide range of Environmental Education lessons. All our lessons are based on the Natural Science CAPS Curriculum currently offered in most schools in South Africa.
Intaka Islands lessons are Inclusive, and we often host special needs Schools.
We offer special rates to all schools registered as “No Fee Schools” and welcome all assistance from partners to help make the opportunity to visit Intaka Island possible for those who can’t.

Our lessons are presented by our in-house trained field Rangers and overseen by the Eco-Centre Manager.
We currently have 4 Facilitation areas at Intaka Island.
Sustainable Classroom- Amphitheatre
Our sustainable classroom area gives our learners the opportunity to learn all about our recycling systems.

Energy Classroom- Cube Room
Our energy classroom promotes the education of renewable energy sources and is equipped with working energy models to show learners the energy consumption of Intaka Island Eco-Centre.

Outdoor Classroom- Lapa
Our outdoor classroom overlooks the beautiful view of our medicinal gardens and our Seasonal Salt Pans.

We usually go ahead with the programme, we just advise everybody dresses warmly and accordingly.
Educational programs usually run for 3 hours thus the program runs from 9:30am until 12:30pm. However we are flexible and you can also give us your time constraints and we will try and work around it.
